This site is dedicated to my Mother Nadia, who passed away on May 18, 2006. An avid swing dancer in the 1940's & 50's, Nadia...Jumped, Jived and Boogie-Woogied to the Big Band sounds of Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Bob Crosby and countless others in the famed ballrooms of New York, Philadelphia and Atlantic City. Nadia gave me my first dance lesson in 1973, teaching me the basic "Box-Step" in preparation for my High School Prom. Those memories will last me a lifetime. I had the pleasure again to Waltz with Nadia 30 years later in 2003.

Dance List Florida was created for those who enjoy dancing in the State of Florida and those worldwide, who come to visit the "Sunshine State" on holiday, on business or just to dance! Internet sources were incomplete and inaccurate and telephone directories often were outdated. Dance List Florida was developed to serve as a comprehensive source for dancers to locate dance halls, dance studios and dance venues throughout Florida. |

My love affair with dancing bean in 2003 with a Ballroom lesson on a Sunday night at The Gulfport Casino in Gulfport, Florida. Once I learned Ballroom dancing I was hooked! My only regret is that I didn't learn to dance 30 years earlier. Dancing three nights a week around Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida, I am always seeking out new dance venues and the enjoyment of dancing to a live band. Aside from Ballroom Dancing, I enjoy Swing, Salsa, Tango and Contra dancing.
